In celebration of the 2020 centennial of the passage of the 19th Amendment, the American Wild Ensemble created a commission and performance program inspired by pioneering women aviators Bessie Coleman and Amelia Earhart. Two new works by Ingrid Stölzel (Earhart) and Carolina Heredia (Coleman) were supported by a 2019 Artistic Innovations Grant from the Mid-America Arts Alliance and slated for performance in Missouri and Kansas in April 2020.
